Capturing the Whole Story: From Baby Bump to Baby Snuggles

There’s something quietly magical about witnessing two people become parents for the first time — especially when you’ve already shared a part of their story before.

Soft light, slow days, and so much love.

I first met this lovely couple back in 2023 when they asked me to photograph their engagement. Even then, there was a quiet, grounded connection between them that I knew would carry through into the next chapters of their story.

Fast forward to this year, and I had the absolute privilege of capturing both their maternity and newborn sessions as part of a combined package, a way to document not just the baby arriving, but the slow and sacred shift into parenthood.

For the maternity session, we spent time at home with their two cats before heading out to the beach, where we chased a storm, laughed over melting ice creams, and soaked in those final quiet weeks before life changed forever. It was overcast, but calm, the kind of mood that makes you want to lean in and slow down.

At six weeks old, I was welcomed back into their home to meet their beautiful Leo. Stillness had taken on a new shape. There was such reverence between the three of them, those tender glances, the way their hands always found each other, how naturally they moved through the rhythms of early parenthood. It felt like witnessing the soft unfolding of a new family story, not perfect or posed, but deeply real and beautifully connected.

Their trust in me and in this slower, more documentary style meant we were able to capture moments that felt honest and full of heart. No gimmicks. No pressure. Just love.

Here’s what they had to say:

“What drew me in was her incredible eye for detail — those subtle and sweet details that make a photo feel warm and timeless. We’ve just completed our maternity and newborn package with her, and once again, she’s delivered photos that we'll treasure for a lifetime. Book her in, she's a pro, amazing with kids, and all-around amazing!”

If you're considering booking both a maternity and newborn session, a combined package might be a beautiful option, not just for the value (yes, it’s cheaper than booking separately!) but for the way it allows your story to be told in full.

It’s an honour every single time I’m invited in. These sessions are never just about photos… they’re about memory, legacy, and love.
